Resolved Question: Does the 'Ray' in the Tampa Bay Rays (since 2008) mean Sun Ray or Devil Ray?

Since they changed their logo and colors after the 2007 season, they added a sunburst on the front of the jersey on the Rays name, so I thought Rays meant "sun rays" as in "rays of sunshine". Yet they still have the Manta Ray on the sleeve that was their main logo when their name was the "Devil Rays."
